Cookie Policy

Last updated: [Date]

Cookies are small files that websites store on your device. This page explains how businessprofilepro.com uses cookies and similar tools, and how you can control them.

In plain English

1What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar tools include pixels (tiny images that count visits or emails opened), local storage, and scripts that recognize your browser. In this policy we call all of them “cookies”.

Cookies can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by another company whose tool we use). They can be “session” cookies that disappear when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies that stay for a set time.

2Why we use cookies

  • Strictly necessary: needed for the site to work, such as security, load balancing, remembering items in a cart or signup, and your cookie choices. These cannot be turned off in our systems.
  • Functional: remember your preferences and make forms, booking and chat tools easier to use, such as a signup pop-up that is not shown again once you dismiss it.
  • Analytics: help us understand which pages are visited, how long people stay, and what can be improved. [Confirm the analytics tool in use, for example Google Analytics.]
  • Advertising and marketing: help measure our ads and show you relevant ads on other sites. [Confirm whether any advertising or conversion pixels, such as Meta or Google Ads, are used on the site. If not, remove this category.]
  • Embedded content and payments: videos, forms, scheduling and payment pages from third parties, such as Stripe, can set their own cookies when you use them.

3Cookies and tools we use

[Owner: replace this list with the real list from a cookie scan of the live site. Do not publish categories or tools that are not actually in use.]

  • [Cookie or tool name: confirm] — purpose, provider, duration, and whether it is first-party or third-party.
  • [Analytics tool: confirm] — measures site usage.
  • [Advertising pixel(s): confirm] — measures ad performance and builds audiences.
  • [Signup pop-up and forms: confirm] — remembers if you have seen or submitted the form.
  • [Chat, booking or video widgets: confirm] — powers those features.
  • [Stripe: confirm] — helps process payments and prevent fraud on checkout pages.

4How to control cookies

  • Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Look in your browser’s Help or Settings menu. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
  • Our cookie controls: [Confirm: if a consent banner or preference center is used, describe how to open it.]
  • Opt-out signals: if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information where the law requires [Confirm technical support].
  • Advertising choices: you can learn more and opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at youradchoices.com and optout.aboutads.info, and in the settings of Google and Meta accounts.
  • Analytics: some providers offer an opt-out tool or browser add-on. [Confirm for the tool in use.]

Opting out does not stop all ads or all tracking. You may still see ads, but they may be less relevant.

5Cookies in our emails and texts

Our marketing emails may use small tracking pixels and link tracking to tell us if an email was opened or a link was clicked. You can block this by turning off image loading in your email program, or by unsubscribing.

6Cookies on our clients’ websites

If we build or manage a website for you, the cookies on that site are set by your site and the tools you choose. You are responsible for your own cookie notice and consent tools where the law requires them. We can help set these up as part of an Order [Confirm].

7Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our site or the law changes, and will update the “Last updated” date. Questions? Email [legal@email]. See also our Privacy Policy.
